I organzied my recipes a few weeks ago. I found some good ones I had forgotten about including today’s. The problem with this recipe and our house is that it needs two ripe bananas… something that is rare here. I buy two bunches of bananas on shopping day and they are usually gone by the end of the week. I actually wanted to make this so much this week that I HID two bananas! LOL!
But anyway… back to the recipe. This was made by my SIL who is one of those cooks that rarely uses a recipe… a trait I do not have. A recipe is a must. But not Wendy… she can cook and bake amazing dishes with just a thought in her head. I have this recipe scribbled on a scape piece of paper with little direction and no title, so I will name it myself and if Wendy wants to rename it I’ll edit it!
Banana Fudge Cake
- 1 package cake mix (I think I used Devil’s Food)
- 1 large ripe banana
Mix cake mix as directed MINUS 1/4 of water and add in ripe banana. [My box called for 1 1/3 cup of water… I wasn’t going to do the math so I just used 1 cup of water).
Bake according to package directions.
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 water
Heat till melted, then add:
- 5 1/2 cups confectionery sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 1 banana
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
Pour over warm cake [I think, I don’t have directions for what to do…but that is what I did]. Let cool and serve.
So Wendy, if you’re reading this and I made a mistake… let me know! But everyone else, be careful if you make this. It’s hard to stop at just one piece! It is WONDERFUL! Don’t forget to hope over to Stop and Smell the Chocolate for other recipes!
