Interesting name, yes? These are normally called Sloppy Joes, but we renamed them a few years ago as this recipe is from Rich’s Grandmother. It is always raved about when I share it with others – such a great taste. I hope if you try it your family loves it too!
Directions:
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
- salt, pepper, garlic powder, to taste
Brown and season.
Mix:
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 2 T vinegar (I use apple cider vinegar)
- 1/2 T mustard
- 4 T sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- salt, pepper, paprika to taste
Pour over beef and simmer 30 minutes. Serve on buns and enjoy! You can make this in the crock pot too. If you have a larger one, I’d at least double the recipe. If you are lucky enough to have leftovers they will be yummy!
YEP!!! They are the BOMB! I make it in the crock pot too! And double/triples well!!!
They were so yummy tonight! I haven’t made them in the crock pot in awhile… but I love taking this meal to new friends!
Oh boy girlie!! Another great sounding recipe of yours to try. I had burgers for next week, but I think I will change it to this! Thanks again!!!
Made them tonight instead. A++++++++++
I will NEVER again buy the canned stuff!!!!!!!
