French Bread Pizza

March 11, 2013

I saw this recipe on none other than Pinterest.  I really try hard not to pin things that I am not going to really try.  My oldest boy LOVES pizza so this was right up his alley {and why I made him come in the kitchen and make it}.

Everyone loved it.  The only thing I would change would be to season the bread before I added the pizza sauce.  Other wise, I loved the crunch of the bread for the pizza “crust”.  Certainly will be making this again and could see the teens friends enjoying it too!

French Bread Pizza

  • French Bread
  • Pizza Sauce
  • Cheese
  • Toppings you love

Heat oven to 350.  Before adding any toppings or sauce, place bread in oven to toast the top first {I have a toaster in my oven, so maybe broil it first before you do topping, just watch it so you don’t burn the top!}.

Add sauce and toppings.  Place back in oven for about 5 minutes or until cheese is nice and melted.  Cut and serve to your hungry teens {or little ones…}.

My two make something similar but add pesto under the cheese instead of/as well as the spaghetti sauce. We make our spaghetti sauce from scratch so have pesto around more often than spare spag sauce ;)

Mmm, I haven’t done that in a very long time. It was a favorite of ours! :)
