Chocolate Friday – Wontons

February 24, 2012

Are you a Dr. Oz watcher?  I seem to be a Dr. Oz recorder.  I have them set to record {or DVR’ed to be more 21st century} and then don’t watch them.  But I do love to watch him – I’ve learned much and reminded that I must be my own advocate in front of doctors.

This year Dr. Oz has partnered with Weight Watchers to inspire the nation to lose weight.  I have VERY much fallen off the wagon, but I still keep my toes wet and this recipe interested me when I saw it.  Just a couple of ingredients and you have a quick warm dessert to serve.  We liked how they were crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside.  A nice light snack to have after a healthy dinner.  If you’re a WW – four of these equal 5 Points Plus.

Chocolate Banana Wontons

Makes 6 servings

  • 2 servings butter-flavor cooking spray
  • 1 large banana, diced
  • 6 tbsp mini chocolate chips
  • 24 wonton wrappers (half of 12 oz package)
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat a large baking sheet with cooking spray.

In a medium bowl, combine banana and chocolate chips, and mix gently.

Place wonton wrappers on flat surface. Drop teaspoonfuls of banana mixture onto center of each wrapper. Moisten edges of each wrapper with wet fingers, and fold over one corner to make a triangle and press sides together to seal. Transfer filled wrappers to prepared baking sheet.

Bake 10-12 minutes, until wontons are golden brown. Sift powdered sugar over wontons before serving. Yields 4 wontons per serving.

Those look heavenly. (Watch out for that cooking spray, though! You’d be shocked at how little one serving is.)

I did WW a looong time ago and lost a lot of weight, which was good. I’ve since learned how to eat for health. I’ve gained a few pounds over the years, and am still trying to get it off, but at least my body is healthy. Good for your for your determination!

    Have a great weekend,
    Christine
