Pizza Field trip
A friend of mine set up a field trip to pizza hut this past week. We were supposed to be able to make our own individual pizzas but they had some equipment change so we couldn’t do that. Then when we showed up there was a miscommunication and they weren’t ready for us! It all worked out though.
While we waited for our tour guide, i.e. manager, they gave us some things to color. Ms. S was quite happy to do that activity {notice she got her hair cut}.

Then we headed back to the kitchen. The first stop was the walk in fridge. The children were SHIVERING within moments! He quickly described what that was used for and then moved on so we didn’t have any popsicle LOL!

Next he showed us the warming “fridges” where the dough hangs out waiting to be used. Then the pizza making began. I thought it was really neat that they have a ring that goes around the pizza to keep the toppings off the crust. Then to the oven for only six minutes. Wish it worked that fast at my house!

Everyone enjoyed the hot pizza for lunch and visiting with friends. Now the field trip I really want to do is Krispy Kreme…. oh that would be glorious!

Looks like a good day! Glad they could still accomodate otherwise you would have had some very disappointed young ones–especially when looking forward to eating pizza!
I’m confused about the ring ??? guess I need a field trip to the pizza place, too
We are actually doing a Krispy Kreme field trip on Thursday!
We have done this field trip (made the pizzas) and the Donatos one. Fun! Kryspy Kreme is no big deal, you stand at the window and watch. Just that same as you would in the store as a regular person. They give you a hat and a donut. So you can do all that on your own!
Sounds like a fun trip! I definitely would love to do KK!!
That sounds fun!! We did this at Papa Johns and the kids had a blast. I think us mommies enjoyed making our own pizza just as much as the kids. Some of my kids are asking me to schedule this field trip again for this year. I’ll have to look into it for them
I’m with you on about Krispy Kreme. That sounds like fun. I might have to check into that too. We only have one in our area and it isn’t in a great part of town. Love KK donuts!!!
We have always wanted to do a pizza field trip. We did do a KK field trip in Oklahoma and we actually got aprons, hats, and gloves and went in the back of the store to see it all close up and got to make our own donut with frosting and sprinkles. I am guessing you could call ahead and ask what they typically do. My boys still remember it and ask if we can do it here since there is one so close.
Yummy, fun and educational! The best kind of field trips
I love Pizza Hut!!! My favorite pizza ever!!! The bad thing…we only have two close by here and they are DISGUSTING places. Roaches have been known to be in the pizza. UGH!!! When we go to Florida every year we always eat at them there. What a fun field trip!!!! I love the ring to keep the crust clean!
I’ve done a KK field trip before and it was so much fun! They watch the donuts on the belt and then they get a hat and get to decorate their own donut. My kids LOVED it!
Krispy Kreme is sooo fun! And you don’t need to pay!
Neat looks like it was fun
We’ve done KK watching and made our own pizzas – but not in a store.
FUN! We have a co-op field trip to do this next month!
