Ice Cube Art

March 2, 2010

How about a project with ice cubes?  Sound like fun?  It is super simple.  You just need:

  • food coloring
  • ice cube tray
  • Popsicle sticks

Fill ice cube trays with water {not to the top though, leave a little room}.  Add the colors you want.  I was out of red so I could only make blues, greens, and yellow.  Place a piece of saran wrap {or alum foil} over the tray and carefully poke your sticks into the water so they can stay standing while the water freezes.  Let freeze overnight.  Pop out {I left mine in my tray} and let your child paint away.  The colors are really cool and it’s an easy cleanup!
