Ice Cube Art
March 2, 2010
How about a project with ice cubes? Sound like fun? It is super simple. You just need:
- food coloring
- ice cube tray
- Popsicle sticks
Fill ice cube trays with water {not to the top though, leave a little room}. Add the colors you want. I was out of red so I could only make blues, greens, and yellow. Place a piece of saran wrap {or alum foil} over the tray and carefully poke your sticks into the water so they can stay standing while the water freezes. Let freeze overnight. Pop out {I left mine in my tray} and let your child paint away. The colors are really cool and it’s an easy cleanup!

That looks like a treat.
Hmmmm, looks fun! I’ll have to think about this though because you know I don’t like messes.
LOVE IT
Best for summer and outdoor art.
That looks fun!

How COOL are those!! My K’er would love to play with these….and would you believe that I actually have all the supplies…even some Neon food coloring. Thanks for sharing.

What a great idea. My girls would love this. I needed something else to do today….it’s raining and we need more art lately.
That is such an awesome idea Kristal! I’ll be saving it in my ‘things for Kyra’ folder for when she’s older. Thank you!
